One of the great anti-aging foods is oats, due to its antioxidant compounds and its fiber content; they are the richest cereal in proteins and fiber. Oats contains phosphorus, calcium, potassium, vitamins B and K. Selenium, vitamin E, and the enzyme superoxide dismutase make the cereal a great antioxidant; they block free radicals and reduces the incidence of degenerative diseases of the heart, arthritis, etc.

Green and white tea

White tea and green tea are rich in polyphenols, flavonoids (catechins, 100 times more antioxidants than vitamin C and 25 times more than vitamin E) and vitamins A, C and E. White tea, being the least processed, loses less antioxidants, that’s why it’s called “the beauty tea”

Algae

Algae are the only anti-aging foods that have developed strong antioxidant systems in response to the extreme conditions in which they exist. They contain mycosporins (amino acids) that absorb ultraviolet radiation in addition to antioxidants, chlorophyll, carotenes, polyphenols, polysaccharides, and vitamins E and C.

Avocado

Avocado is one of the anti-aging foods that provide antioxidants and fatty acids to keep you healthy and fight against aging.  Its monounsaturated fatty acids help control blood sugar and cholesterol while vitamin C prevents aging and facilitates the absorption of vitamins E, K and B 9. This fruit also contains lutein (yellow antioxidant also found in egg yolk, carrots, and spinach) that works as a sunscreen, protecting from loss of vision. Combined with raw vegetables (in a salad for example) it multiplies by 4 the absorption of lycopene (a pigment that gives the red color to tomatoes and watermelons), by 2.6 beta carotene (precursor of vitamin A in carrots) and by 5.1 lutein.

Salmon

Salmon is one of the anti-aging foods with fatty acids and antioxidants to keep you healthy and fight against aging.  It is also one of the anti-aging foods richest in omega-3. Its amount of minerals is 25 times greater than any other food of animal origin, as well as its vitamins D, E and A. Its intense color is due to astaxanthin, 10 times more antioxidants than other carotenoids. This antioxidant is very versatile since it can control more than 19 free radicals at the same time (vitamin C or E only handle one at a time); prevents and treats age-related macular degeneration (AMD), cataracts and eye fatigue.

Other anti-aging foods include;

Garlic: In addition to its antioxidant properties, garlic helps strengthen the immune system and prevent certain types of cancer. Garlic contains among its ingredients two main products that are responsible for acting in favor of health, it is allicin and diallyl sulfide.

Broccoli: It has a large  amount of vitamins, cleansing, and anticancer properties.

Tomatoes: They help reduce cholesterol, and prevent infections.

Cranberries: They are attributed antibiotic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Grapes: They have diuretic, circulatory and depurative properties.

Cherries: They provide a large number of vitamins and are a mild laxative.

Kiwis: They have a high content of vitamin C which protects the health of the arteries and consequently the heart.

Legumes:  They are a great source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and essential minerals.

Argan:  This Moroccan oil is full of vitamins and antioxidants. Argan oil is a great oil to use topically and also to eat.

Cocoa: It has a high content of magnesium. Acts as a natural mood regulator and improves concentration.

All these foods have the ability to prevent the degeneration and death of cells. They fight against agents harmful to our body. Although, they alone will not be able to take full responsibility.
